Dependencies

The problem with dependencies is that you will have more hard time to fix the problem and master it than with your own code. The amazing thing with dependencies is that you can recycle and get more code with the same behavior and more extensively tested than what you do yourself. That's the thing of dependencies.

This makes me sometimes wonder if the hardest task, sometimes, isn't the dependencies themselves, their updates, or they interact between each other, than your own written code. Because your own written code, you will have more internal documentations and knowledge about it than with dependencies and you may take more time focusing on understanding the dependencies than doing the code.

So, do you prefer having more dependencies or not?
